Building Emergency Systems

Fire Alarm Pull Stations
Located on each floor are three fire alarm pull stations, by the entrance to the exit stairwells. To activate, pull down on the faceplate and the alarm will sound. Proceed with evacuation procedures.

 

Fire Life Safety Speaker System
The building is equipped with a life safety speaker system with the capability of notifying all floors, simultaneously or individually, of emergency situations. For the hearing impaired, strobe lighting will be activated, signifying an alarm situation. Special instructions may be broadcast from the Fire Control Room through the ceiling speaker system, which is audible in all tenant spaces and public area.

 

Sprinklers and Smoke Detectors
Ceiling mounted quick response sprinkler heads have been installed on all floors. When a sprinkler head is activated an alarm will sound. Smoke detectors on each floor measure products of combustion. If a prescribed limit of combustion is exceeded, an alarm activates at the lobby's life safety system console and the audible alarm will sound on the activated floor. Smoke detectors are located in the elevator lobbies.

 

Elevators
During an emergency elevators will be placed on fire recall and operated under the supervision of either the San Francisco Fire Department or building personnel. Upon indication at the security console of an emergency, all elevators in the affected bank will return to the ground floor.

 

Building Emergency Status Line

In the event of an emergency, this line will be updated with recorded messages as new information is received by the building office.
